Teaching Quality label FLE

Official Label  "Qualité Français Langue Etrangère"

In 2007 the Azurlingua school was awarded the label "Qualité FLE. "

It is one of the first schools in France to have been awarded the label for the quality of its teaching, its premises and services (administration, registration, accommodation...)

The quality label is a commitment from the French state, through the agency of the Ministries for Education, Research and Higher education, Foreign affairs (High office for international cooperation and development) and the general delegation for the French language to entrust the CIEP with the setting up of a regulating agency for the award of quality labels to centres for the teaching of French as a foreign language operating on French territory.

Such a move will, from now on, make it possible to identify, recognise and promote those schools able to provide courses and services that are up to their students' expectations.

A chat with Jean-Luc Librati, the School Director

In 2007 Azurlingua was awarded with the 'quality label for French as a foreign language'. How does one acquire this award?
Jean-Luc Librati -  When we first opened Azurlingua in 1990 we had a very precise idea of what we were aiming for: becoming one of the best schools for French as a foreign language in France. Over the years we have worked on our product. As we are close to our students, it was easy for us to see what they needed and meet their expectations. At Azurlingua they find the best possible conditions to learn or improve their French. We also have the advantage of being situated in a beautiful part of France: Nice, Cannes, Antibes, Juans-les-Pins, Monaco, Grasse, Saint-Paul-de-Vence, Saint-Tropez...The French Riviera makes you dream!

Why have these French institutions decided to 'label' the teaching of French as a foreign language?

Jean-Luc Librati - The students who choose to come to France to learn French also want to discover our country and traditions. They want to profit from their stay, without having to worry or having any nasty surprises. Putting a label on these schools makes it possible to choose a school and ensure the quality of the product and to compare it directly with others. In other words, not to make a mistake and be disappointed.

What is the evaluation of the schools based on?

Jean-Luc Librati - The criteria of quality are based on many different factors: the contents and diversity of the courses on offer, teacher's qualifications, the attentiveness of our administrative staff, the relevance of the cultural programme, up to date equipment, premises that are suited to their use, comfort of accommodation.
Putting a label on the product gives you a guarantee. We were prepared for this award and so didn't have to raise the standard of our services or noticeably increase our prices.
